Cyndi Lockett

Obituary of Cyndi Ann Lockett

On Thursday, September 15, 2022, Cyndi Ann Lockett, loving wife, and mother of two passed away at the age of 68. Growing up an avid tennis player on the courts of her beloved Kramer club, in Palos Verdes California, she earned an athletic scholarship to her father's alma mater, West Texas State University. It was at West Texas State that she became an active member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and received her bachelor’s degree in art with a minor in French. After college, she went into banking where she managed banks for the next 37 years. It was during that time she met the man she called her husband for nearly forty years. Cyndi had a profound love for Broadway, the San Francisco Giants, and Disney. If she wasn’t busy planning her next trip to New York, she could often be found at a Giants game or Disneyland. It was in retirement she rediscovered her love of drawing and one of her crowning achievements was having her portraits of the Moulin Rouge cast hanging in the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Her love of the Giants was shared with her husband Terry, going to games and making the trip to Arizona every year for spring training. Cyndi did an amazing job creating traditions for her family and they will always be found in the love of Disneyland by both her children and grandsons. Cyndi was best known for her intelligence, feisty spirit, and her ability to make you laugh until you cried. She is survived by her husband Terry, their children Kellie (Ken) Cuellar and Riley Lockett, and grandsons Declan and Callen Cuellar. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11 am in the reception hall of Maidu Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able, please make a donation to the American Heart Association or Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS in her honor.
